Look for Local is guided by the vision of creating a more equitable and sustainable food system by connecting local organic farmers with sections of society that face food and nutrition insecurity. Established in 2020, the initiative aims to market access for local farmers while simultaneously making fresh fruits and vegetables more readily available to those in need.
Working in collaboration with Sisters of the People and Jungly Farms, the project also works towards addressing nutritional access for children between the ages of 3-5 attending Balwadis in Delhi. The initiative redirects fresh fruits sourced from Jungly Farms to the Balwadis, which are community based preschool and daycare centers.Â
Look for Local seeks to promote fairer agricultural markets, responsible consumption, and inclusive access to fresh produce for all.
